Peachy Keen Challenge 55

I have a really fun card to share with you today for the PK challenge.  I used Shower Peepers, PK-259 to make my card.  I just love those little Peepers!  Who am I kidding?  I love all Peachy Keen Stamps!  I used Copics to color the images.  The raindrops are from MSS-03, Market Street Stamps, Ain't No Sunshine.  They were stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The other droplets are from Happy Go Lucky Elephant, PK-222.  They were stamped and colored with a white gel pen.  You can see what the rest of the DT has created by clicking here.  You won't be disappointed.

I will not have access to my computer for a few days, so I will see you when I get back.  Have a great day!

Let's Face It Friday - Old School

Hi Everyone,
I am so sorry I am late with my post.  I was on a plane to WI and forgot to schedule my post.  I decided to play along this week with the LFIF Team for this fun challenge.

"Ok, so our challenge today is to bring it back --- wayyyy back to the year you graduated high school. What do you remember most about that year? Was it school? A trip you took that year? A major event that occurred? Let's scrap it or make it our inspiration for another crafty project!"

I graduated High School in 1979 so I chose to make an 8x8 layout.  The kitchen I designed is very much like the kitchen I grew up in, in fact, I have the starburst clock that hung in my childhood home.  It still works, and now my 25 yr old would like to have it in his home.

I found the clock through google search and printed and cut it out.  The kitchen table and chairs I found on ebay and printed it and cut it out.  I found patterned paper that resembled what my Mom had hanging in our kitchen in the 70's.  I drew the owl.  I used Wide Eyed Kids for the faces of the girls.  The clothes were cut from Hippie Chic from DCWV using Ellison dies for the sizzix.  I drew the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle, one that I had, and the long straight hair with a flower tucked behind the ear, another style I sported in the 70's.  And let's not forget the green and blue eye shadow that was so popular then.

I really had fun with this challenge and going down memory lane.
Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Scrapbuggy Sketch Challenge Card

Good morning!  Here is a card I made for a Scrapbuggy Sketch Challenge.

The die and stamp are from My Favorite Things.  Papers by My Mind's Eye, Stella and Rose, Mabel and Hazel.  The frame and sentiment were stamped with Lady Bug Red Memento Ink and distressed with Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink.  The flowers were made with scraps from the papers used with SU Real Red corduroy brads.  Thanks for stopping by.  Check out the challenge here.

In a Pinch?

Good morning friends!
Today I made a card with the adorable Duck Die and Duck Accessories, designed by Kathy Jakopovich of Peachy Keen Stamps.  This die is one of my favorites!  That duck just makes me smile.  She is all set to take a swim in the ocean with her goggles and innertube, but she better watch her step!

I colored the duck with copics.  I used Memento Summer Sky to sponge the clouds.  I used Colorbox Cyan pigment ink for the ocean along with  VersaMagic Aquatic Splash chalk ink.  For the sand I used Anna Griffin pigment ink and Tim Holtz Tea Dye and Vintage Photo distress ink.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the crab and the sentiment is My Pink Stamper, Even More Punny-licious.  Have a wonderful day!

Janice

More Cherries in the Kitchen

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday to you!  Today I have made a card using In the Kitchen Clear Stamps and Home Baked Clear Stamps.  I can't get enough of this fantastic release!  It is so versatile.
I used the tiny cherry stamp, again, to stamp the "valance" that was made with the doily border punch by Martha Stewart.  I stamped and colored the pie and oven mitts and cut them out.  A red gingham background and red with white polka dotted ribbon finish this cottage kitchen snippet perfectly.

Don't forget!  The second Scrapping Cottage challenge has been posted by Kay.  I hope to see many of you play along for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate.  Have a great day!

LFIF #17

Good morning everyone!  I decided to play along with the Let's Face it Friday team.

I used a Cottage Cutz die for the ice cream scoops.  I stamped the red one with PK-642, Boy Mates Face Assortment, the white one with PK-500, Snow Cutie Face Assortment, and the blue scoop was stamped with
PK-460 Happy Lashes Assortment.  I made the background paper with a stamp that, I thought, looks like fireworks.  I may have gone a little overboard with the bling, but I was having fun and just kept adding more and more.  The details for the challenge are posted below.  You may see what the design team has created by clicking here.

The Challenge:
Create a patriotic card representing your country! That's right - time to celebrate wherever you live! That means U.S., Mexico, Canada, South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, Asia - we want to see your country's colors, too!

-Design must be new
-Project must include Peachy Keen Faces

Cherry Pie Bliss

Good morning Cottage Cutz fans!  There is still time to enter the first Scrapping Cottage Challenge for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate to The Scrapping Cottage Store.  We have had some wonderful entries!  You can read all the details here.  Kay will be posting challenge #2 on Saturday, June 11.

Now on to my card for today.  I used the cherry pie slice from the In The Kitchen Clear Stamps and the tiny cherry stamp from the Homemade Tag Clear Stamp.  I also used the Circles With Eyelets die for the cherry pie slices.

I love to use stamps to create background papers.  For this card I used the tiny cherry stamp from the Homemade Tag Clear Stamp.  If you have been following me for awhile, you know that I love cherries.  I have made many cards with cherries on them and never grow tired of them.  When I lived in Wisconsin we used to go cherry picking.  YUM!!!  I have cherry decor in my kitchen, on plates and towels...... well you get the idea.

I stamped the pie slice three times and colored with Prismacolor colored pencils.  I cut the pie slices out and mounted them on the small circles from the circle eyelet die.  If I had known my final design of the card I probably would have stamped the slice onto the circles, although I do like the added dimension from cutting them out.  If I needed to make a lot of the same card, I think stamping directly to the circle would be the way to go.  The YUM sentiment is from the Kitchen Clear Stamps, and I used some ruffled black gingham ribbon to finish the card.  Thanks so much for having a look!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

So here is my project.  I fell in love with this adorable mouse when Kathy made Angelica's birthday card found here.  I am so happy she made this into a stamp set and thrilled that I get to showcase this cutie in the hop.  This birthday mouse is the star of the Karaoke stage, and is having so much fun kicking up his heals, singing and dancing.

One of these days I will do a video tutorial on how to make these stages.  I have made them several times and in different sizes.  I also have a very crude tutorial here, if you would like to see it.  You have to scroll to the bottom of the post for the start of the tutorial.  My blogging skills have improved a little bit since then.  Blogger has made improvements as well.

The records were made by punching a large black circle and a smaller red circle, gluing them together and punching a hole in the center.  I made the "disco" ball by punching 2 circles from some scrap silver cardstock from some packaging material..  I glued them together and used a stylus to create the look of mirror tiles.  The mouse was colored with copics.  I used the black and white checked paper because I thought it would make a great dance floor.  This stage can be folded and the finished size folded is 6x6.    I hope you enjoyed my project.  Now hop along and enjoy the rest of the hop.  Good luck!

Your next stop is the ever so talented Viv - http://craftinghaven.blogspot.com/.  I can't wait to see it as well, because her sneak peek looked awesome.  Have fun!

And the WINNER is.....

Random number generator chose #23.  Congratulations Saundra, Luv Scrapping Together!  You are the winner, from my sneak peek, of Karaoke Birthday Set PK-290.  I will email you shortly.

Thanks everyone.  Come back later today for the release hop, for more chances to win.

Peachy Keen Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone!  Parts of Massachusetts were hit by tornadoes yesterday.  Unfortunately 4 lives were lost and many people are without homes.  So many areas of the country have had such devastating damage as a result of horrific storms.  Life is precious and can change instantly.  I believe in the power of prayer and positive energy, so my prayers go out to those who are facing difficulties.  Remember, just a smile can make a difference in someone's day.

Peachy Keen stamps always put a smile on my face, and Kathy has done it once again.  She truly has a gift and I am so thankful she shares it with all of us!  Here is my sneak peek.

This is one of my favorite stamp sets, of course I have said that more than once!  One lucky blogger will win this set by leaving a comment on this post.  Be sure and visit all the sneak peeks and leave a comment for more chances to win.  And be sure and come back tomorrow for the blog HOP for some more awesome prizes.  I love Peachy Keen blog hops because it's so much fun to see what the other designers have come up with.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you tomorrow.

Hugs and smiles,
Janice
